Youth tour for civil rights, church not out for summer, and more

As part of a Civil Rights Journey sponsored nationally by the Unitarian Universalist College of Social Justice, three youth from Galloway, N.J., toured sites of interest to the civil rights movement in Alabama and Georgia July 22 through 29 and will speak about their experience at the UU Center in Galloway in September. UU churches are apparently beginning to break from tradition and not take the summer off, according to an article likely published during a slow news week at the New York Times. (New York Times – 8.17.12)

The First UU Church of San Diego, Calif., and Swinerton Builders San Diego have unveiled the newly completed Welcome Center and Campus Site Improvement project that will provide space for church functions, community events, and study classes. (Market Watch – 8.22.12)
